The secret is out – English sparkling wine is world class and growing as a recognised industry in its own right. Them has responded to this growth by embarking on an ambitious programme of ring-fencing and ultimately protecting the producers. We’ve created the name Downland with which consumers can identify the distinguished brands from other lesser offerings. We hope to make this a name to rival Champagne and Prosecco as well as the many other iconic names associated with the wine industry. Downland is already trademarked and protected and with the Downland Producers Guild beginning to take shape, the future of this celebrated English sector is now even more secure.
